TT Correspondent |  |  26 Oct 2016

Anritsu Company announces that is has earned the 2016 Global Product Line Strategy Award—Manufacturing Test Software for IoT from Frost & Sullivan. In making the announcement, Frost & Sullivan stated that newly released software packages from Anritsu uniquely position the company’s Universal Wireless Test Set MT8870A as an all-in-one instrument with unmatched solutions that support a wide range of wireless technologies to conduct high-volume production tests on IoT devices.

“Anritsu is committed to satisfying a wide variety of test requirements for emerging markets, including IoT. Our solutions provide the accuracy, speed, and flexibility required to meet current product pre-certification and validation needs, as well as deliver an efficient roadmap to economically expand as the market matures. This value combination is what separates the MT8870A from many other solutions and is a key benefit for customers,” said Paul Innis, Vice President and General Manager of Anritsu Company.

In its report, Frost & Sullivan stated that Anritsu enjoys a prominent position in the global wireless manufacturing test and measurement equipment market, capitalizing on its extensive breadth of software packages supporting manufacturing tests for IoT devices. With three new software packages, the company showcases its commitment to delivering an all-in-one test set that supports a variety of technologies designed into industrial equipment, connected cars, wearables, and smartphones.

The MX887032A/MV887032A software package is most suitable for connected car wireless communications applications supporting 802.11p RF tests for the 700MHz and 5.9GHz frequencies. It has the capability to support a fully automated environment for all-in-one tests of IoT device chipsets. The MX887040A-001/MV887040A-001 software tests Bluetooth DLE, which improves system throughput by enhancing communications for IoT consumer devices such as smartphones or wearables. The MT8870A’s MX887061A/MV887061A software offers the ITU-T G.9959 Z-Wave RF test support required for low-power wireless technology used in smart homes and home security.

“Anritsu is well positioned to address the needs of several new IoT applications in a wide range of vertical industries. The company’s technology and software packages have the potential to build an ecosystem that supports IoT providers. The company’s refined software package with extensive expertise in the test and measurement market enables end users to optimize throughput and reduce OPEX,” said Mariano Kimbara, Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst.

For the Product Line Strategy Leadership Award, Frost & Sullivan analysts independently evaluated two key factors—Product Line Strength and Customer Impact—according to established criteria. Breadth, scalability, technology leverage, features, and reliability comprise the product categories, while customer impact is based on price/performance value, customer purchase experience, customer ownership experience, customer service experience, and brand equity.
