Election Commission seeks cooperation of telecom firms
TT Correspondent |  |  29 Mar 2019

The joint chief electoral officer Abhijit Agarwal has directed the telecom companies to maintain call contact-related issues of toll free number 1950 set up by the commission.

The number of the state contact centre being operated in the districts have been given to all telecom service providers, so that the mapping of toll free number 1950 could be done correctly.

Agarwal told the companies to cooperate in its campaign for voter awareness so that more and more citizens can exercise their franchise in the Lok Sabha elections.

Deputy chief electoral officer Sanjeev Jain and nodal officers of BSNL, Airtel, Idea, Vodafone, Tata Teleservices and Reliance Jio were present at the meeting.
