Orange launches LTE signalling service for 4G international roaming

Orange’s wholesale division has launched a new service that will allow mobile operators to provide their customers with a 4G roaming service.

Orange’s  LTE Signalling offer enables operators to provide end users with the significantly improved service of 4G networks while roaming outside their home country.

As a key contributor to GSMA standards and a supporter of Open Connectivity principles, Orange has an ambitious program to extend LTE Signalling through direct connectivity and peering agreements.

In this respect, the Group can announce that it has already set(up interconnection agreements with the other major carriers. Today Orange is capable of offering connectivity with most LTE networks across Europe, Americas and Asia. Leveraging Orange’s expertise in mobile signalling and roaming With almost 20 years of experience and offering one of the largest available footprints, Orange provides operators with complete solutions that support all roaming technologies, including signalling, data and value added services.

LTE Signalling is one of the à la carte services available through Orange’s Multiservice IP exchange solution which provides a high(level of security and quality of service. Orange’s IPX network offers a large footprint that comprises 30 points of presence (PoPs) worldwide. It guarantees a packet(loss ratio of less than 0.05% and jitter inferior to 5ms. LTE Signalling, based on the "Diameter” signalling protocol, is built on dedicated platforms integrated in Orange’s cutting(edge IPX network and provides additional security, interoperability and enhanced routing functions.
