Detailed Review
Design:
The LG Optimus 3D is the world's first glasses-free 3D phone. The Optimus 3D max has 126.8 x 67.4 x 9.98 mm dimension with heavy 148 gm in weight. LG has used capacitive touch screen type with Nova Plus 3D stereoscopic LCD technology and 4.3 inches screen size. It has dual 5 megapixel camera on the back for both 2D and 3D captures and a VGA front facing camera. With 3.5 mm headphone jack on top it has a micro USB and volume controls on the left side. The metallic body is solid and shiny but the keys are hard to press.
Features:
The LG Optimus 3D Max is enabled with all Google features/services such as Mail, Search, Plus, Latitude, Maps with Navigation, Play Store, Messenger, Places, Talk, and YouTube which give it an edge over its competitors The 3D max runs on 1.2 GHz dual core processor with Android 2.3.6 gingerbird Operating System which fits best in this device. It has 3D Max 3 dimensional VR. The 3D effect is really good, though viewing angles are narrow so you have to look directly at the screen. You can create and edit 2D and 3D photos and video. With LG’s own HRZ engine you can convert your old 2D photos, videos and games into 3D content or vice-versa. With NFC (near field communication) chip enabled within the device, the 3D Max has incorporated 3 TAG+ stickers labeled Office, Car and Sleep. That lets you use the NFC feature to activate your personal settings. You can activate the TAG by simply tapping on it. It do not even takes time and perform action fastly everytime.
Camera:
The LG 3D max comes with dual 5 megapixel main camera both for 2D and 3D modes. But the front camera is left with VGA mode. It takes up to 3MP image size while on 3D mode and 5MP image size on 2D. It is also powered with 8X zoom. Along with this you have Normal and continuous shoot modes inbuilt. You get lot of image editing options in camera settings both for 2D and 3D modes. However, options are comparatively less on 3D mode but they are great. One can edit, filter, adjust, border and combine images with great ease. The 2D video captures full HD 1080 P for phone and HD 720 P on TV while 3D video captures only HD 720 P on both phone and TV. But the interesting part is that video zoom is also 8X.
Music/Sound:
The inbuilt music player in LG Optimus 3D Max has done justice to music lovers. With plenty of options in the equalizer you can set your mood easily. FM is also there which works on speakerphone mode as well. It also gives you lot of audio format, so that you do not miss any music file downloaded or shared.
Interface/OS:
This LG 3D smartphone runs on Android gingerbird 2.3.6. With CPU of 1.2 GHz Dual Core- Dual channel Processor it has done justice to the powerful machine. The interface is easy to understand and operate.
Memory:
It comes with inbuilt memory of 6.25 GB and 1 GB RAM it can be expanded to 32 GB using Micro SD card. Phonebook, Messaging, calendar and e-mail memory is up to available memory.
Battery:
The LG Optimus 3D Max has Li-Ion inner pack 1520mAh battery capacity. It delivers 17 hours talk time on 2G and 9 hours while on 3G whereas the standby time on 2G is up to 365 hours and 389 hours on 3G.
Conclusion:
The LG Optimus 3D Max is simply a remarkable smartphone. With 4.3 inch screen and dual 5 megapixel camera for 2D and 3D it will impress the audience. 3D features are exceptionally great and easy to use. But the front VGA camera is depressing as it grains while on a video call. The price can raise questions too, but if you see the features and capacity of the phone it is worth it. Overall, we give this handset 4 Star rating.
