  There may soon be competition to Apple smartwatch. French luxury group LVMH's watch brand TAG Heuer may launch smartwatch. A luxury watchmaker will certainly have an advantage over a phone company making smartwatch.
“We want to launch a smartwatch at TAG Heuer, but it must not copy Apple Watch,” head of TAG Heuer Jean-Claude Biver told a Switzerland-based Sunday newspaper NZZ am Sonntag. The company may launch Smartwatch by March.
Biver, however, clarified that the company will not copy Apple Watch or any other smart watch.
“We cannot afford to just follow in somebody else's footsteps,” said Biver. This is the right strategy. If the Swiss industry follows at someone else’s footsteps then there is no reason that a late entrant will get foothold in the market.
Smartwatches are popular because of health related features available in it. |
