Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG), the company's smartphone selling vertical, plans to expand its retail reach to tier-2 and -3 cities in three years, a top company official said on Thursday.
The company claims to have presence across 800 retail stores in metros at present.
"Our current focus is to expand our presence in India market and reach where consumers are. We have just started expanding offline presence in metros and then we will go to tier-2 and tier-3 cities in three years," Huawei India CBG Vice President Rishi Kishor Gupta said.
"For online channel, we are offering free pick and drop across 20,000 PIN codes in India even outside warranty period," Gupta added.
He was speaking on the sidelines of launching the company's first smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera, Huawei Y9 Prime 2019, priced at Rs 15,990.
Huawei earlier positioned itself as a premium range brand but entered the medium price category last year with Huawei P20 lite which sells for around Rs 20,000. |
