Telecom Regulatory Authority of India said India beating the US in April and becoming the world’s second-largest mobile phone market after China.
The Telecom Regulator reveals that the South Asian nation had 250.9 million wireless users till February end, compared with 260.5 million for the US and 540.5 million for China.
The India mobile phone market, the world’s fastest growing market has helped to lure investments from Vodafone Group Plc and Richard Branson’s Virgin. India added 8.53 million mobile phone users in February while US was able to add about 2 million users for the same month. |
