Bharti Airtel, Reliance get permission to launch IPTV services
TT Bureau |  New Delhi |  07 Feb 2008

Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications are reportedly given permission to offer IPTV services following the recommendations sent by TRAI to the ministry of information & broadcasting.

The telecom companies who have relevant unified access service licenses and cellular mobile telephony service licenses have now the right to provide service without any further registrations. This permission was granted by the Ministry.

It goes without saying that these services will give tough competition to the DTH service providers present in the country.

Bharti Airtel is already testing IPTV Services in different locations in Gurgaon. The result will soon tell the real story.
