TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  10 Dec 2009

Mobile content provider, mTouche Technology BHd has set base in India with a joint venture (JV), mBit Infotech Pvt. Ltd. with India’s VASSoft.net to offer peer to peer (P2P) mobile content platform to Indian telecom operators. VASSoft.net is a subsidiary of Himenviro Environmental Technologies.

The JV plans to invest $ one million initially in India in the first phase of launch. The services will be offered under the name mBit P2P mobile content and the JV plans to offer the services for a daily rental of Rs 3. The service will allow mobile subscribers tp share content such as photos, video & music using mobile phones. The charge is in line with the market''s average mobile value-added services rate in India.

“The joint venture partner will invest up to US$1 million in the first phase to roll out the mBit P2P mobile content offering in India. mTouche Technology India has been evaluating the India market since the year 2006. The Indian market has experienced an increase in the mobile subscriber base—from 150 million to 450 million. This shows the kind of opportunity the Indian market provides for the VAS players. We are here with the best of the technologies and services to address the market requirement,” comments Eugene Goh, Chief Executive Officer, mTouche.

According to Raghavendra Aggarwala, CEO, mBit Infotech, "VASSoft.net and mTouche joining hands and forming mBit Infotech combines the financial strength and VAS expertise and a fresh outlook to serve Indian market with unique P2P cum file share application and many more to come later on. The JV is strategically placed to benefit the Indian and Asian market as a whole.”
