The delay in execution of the mega GSM order of BSNL seems to be hitting the company hard. But the company too has devised a strategy to outdo the damage from this delay as it has now placed an order for 5 million GSM lines in South to meet its immediate capacity demands. The order has been placed to its existing vendors in the region, Nortel and Motorola.
“We have decided to place the order with the existing vendors for immediate requirement. Meanwhile, we are coming out with a tender for the Southern zone for adding 25 million GSM lines,” said Kuldeep Goyal, chairman and managing director of BSNL.
The order is valued at around Rs.800 crore and will be equally distributed to the two companies. |
