Synchronica plc, the international provider of next-generation mobile messaging services, announced that a second 'top-10' mobile device manufacturer has placed an order to certify and license Synchronica’s IMPS instant messaging client.
This initial certification order satisfies a major Latin American operator group’s prerequisite that device manufacturers certify their handsets with Synchronica's IM infrastructure. This is the second order that Synchronica has obtained from a top-10 device manufacturer as a consequence of the operator's device certification requirements.
Synchronica expects that it will receive further orders from other device manufacturers that wish to sell their devices to the operator, and repeat orders as device manufacturers launch new models of their handsets. As a result of the device certification process and pre-installation of IMPS clients, Synchronica also expects to see an increase in the uptake of its Instant Messaging service by the carrier’s subscribers, which ultimately translates into increased revenues for Synchronica.
Carsten Brinkschulte, CEO of Synchronica, comments, "It’s a ringing endorsement when one of the top mobile carrier groups instructs device manufacturers to certify their handsets with Synchronica’s infrastructure. We’re delighted that the operator sees the strategic value in its Synchronica-powered instant messaging service, and we are committed to working closely with device manufacturers to fully certify their handsets and maximize the mobile takeup-rate of the service." |
