Huawei Technologies has been named FTTx Vendor of the Year and Wireless Broadband Network Vendor of the Year at Telecom Asia’s 2010 Readers' Choice Awards, which were presented on December 9 at a ceremony in Hong Kong by representatives from 15 service providers.
“Huawei has once again shown its strength as a leader in the telecom industry, picking up two prizes in our Readers' Choice Awards. Huawei has taken the lead in LTE development with the largest number of LTE contract wins to date, while its SingleRAN architecture has given it the flexibility to support multiple standards, including WiMAX and TD-LTE,” said Telecom Asia group editor Joseph Waring. “Additionally, in the FTTx space, Huawei has built a solid lead in Asia Pacific in PON equipment sales thanks to its successes in China, Malaysia, and Brunei.”
Commenting on the awards, Lim Chee Siong, Huawei South-Pacific Region Chief Marketing Officer, said, “Huawei is pleased to have been recognized by the readers of Telecom Asia as FTTx Vendor of the Year and Wireless Broadband Network Vendor of the Year. Over the past few decades, the rapid development of mobile telephony and the Internet has literally changed the world. Universal access to telecom services has grown beyond all expectations and is greatly improving people's lives. Huawei has been one of the key drivers of this historic development, supplying products and solutions that serve one third of the global population.” |
