Agilent technologies introduces new design and Test Solution for 3GPP LTE-Advanced
TT Correspondent |  |  25 Jan 2011

Agilent technologies announced the launch of new commercially available 4G system design library named  the W1918 LTE-Advanced library for  3GPP Release 10. The new system design library is available as an option to Agilent’s SystemVue 2011.03 release software.

The new solution provides Wireless system architects and chipset makers for earlier verification of physical layer (PHY) algorithms and system performance. The new solution also claims to provide system architects, baseband algorithm developers and component manufacturers with superior intellectual property access to earlier working models of the evolving 4G standard, outstanding RF and MIMO channel modeling fidelity, integration between multi-language PHY modeling and wideband test equipment; and greater RF and baseband design-flow integration.

“As the provider of world-class LTE solutions, Agilent is fully committed to providing engineers with the resources they need to create the next generation of mobile communication devices based on LTE-Advanced,” said Ron Nersesian, president of Agilent’s Electronic Measurement Group. “Our delivery of the LTE-Advanced library, almost concurrently with the new standard itself, is a prime example of that leadership. As the LTE-Advanced standard evolves, and infrastructure is deployed, we will continue to honor that commitment by working to keep our customers at the forefront of this technology.”

Key features of the new W1918 LTE-Advanced library includes support for new Rel10 features such as contiguous and non-contiguous carrier aggregation (CA) and downlink /uplink enhancements, support for closed-loop coded throughput simulations with up to 8x8 MIMO with fading and active HARQ feedback, simulation-based support for proposed MIMO over-the-air testing with standards-based fading, through optional W1715 MIMO Channel library, simulation-based support for proposed MIMO over-the-air testing with standards-based fading, through optional W1715 MIMO Channel library, overlay support for 3GPP Release 8, and integration with Agilent’s signal generator/signal analyzer families, enabling early R&D validation of both algorithms and hardware.

The new solution available at a starting price of approximately $17,000.
