Kanimozhi ''active brain' behind Kalaignar TV, CBI tells court
TT Correspondent |  |  07 May 2011

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MP Kanimozhi and Kalaignar TV MD Sharad Kumar today appeared before a Delhi court ahead of hearing on their bail plea in the second-generation (2G) mobile telephony spectrum case.

The CBI opposed the bail plea of Kanimozhi and Kumar.

Kanimozhi was "active brain" behind Kalaignar TV which received Rs200 crore bribe from Dynamix group, CBI told the court. The CBI also said that Shahid Balwa, whose company was beneficiary in the 2G scam, paid Rs200 crore to Kalaignar TV.

Controlling mind of Kalaignar TV is Sharad Kumar but the lady (Kanimozhi) "controls" everything from behind, it said.
