Corporate | | Aricent announces “Bright Minds” winners | | TT Correspondent | | 18 Jun 2011 | | | The Aricent Group, a global innovation and technology services company, on Friday announced the result of its annual innovation competition, ‘Bright Minds’ Technical Paper Contes The Bright Minds contest was an initiative rolled out by the company in 2010 to foster innovative thinking among engineering students in India and to offer them a platform to present their original and innovative ideas. As part of the contest, the company invited technical papers from engineering students across the country on topics such as Computer Science, Telecom, Electronics & Engineering, and Information Technology. Speaking about the contest, Amitabh Hajela, Vice President, HR, the Aricent Group said, “The idea behind this contest was to build a strong culture of innovative thinking amongst the engineering students in India.” S. Vikram from the College of Engineering, Guindy won first prize for his paper titled “An Embedded System for Hand Gesture Recognition” while Balaji Gopal from Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering won second prize for his paper titled “Advance Recognition and Indoor Navigation for People with Visual Impairments”. The third prize went to Prithumit Deb, from VIT University, Vellore for his paper titled “Secure Strokes – A Security Mechanism for Authentication in Mobile Devices Using User’s Behavioral Pattern of Keystrokes Dynamics with Visual Cues. |
