Nokia Siemens said it has been running live TD-LTE (4G) trial networks successfully in Hangzhou and Xiamen for China Mobile, the world’s largest operator.. Trial users have been able to enjoy peak download and upload speeds of up to 100 Mbps along with uninterrupted access to applications such as video streaming and online HD video conferencing.
The company has already finished testing the core network and is now testing radio access. It is working with China’s Ministry of Information and Industry Technology (MIIT) on TD-LTE device testing, and will use devices in the trial, when testing is completed.
"In Zheijang region, we reached a major milestone earlier this year with 50 million subscribers and can also see the data boom in the network,” said Zhong Tianhua, General Manager of China Mobile Group Zhejiang Co. Ltd. “As our long-standing partner, Nokia Siemens Networks fully understands our aim to improve the capabilities of our network to improve subscriber experience."
Nokia Siemens Networks deployed its single RAN advanced TD-LTE equipment in 2.3GHz and 2.6GHz spectrum.The company’s network management system, NetAct is providing configuration, monitoring and operations support system capabilities during the trial. Nokia Siemens Networks is also providing network planning and optimization services. |
