Using its GPON solution, ZTE helped TEO roll out the fastest broadband network in the world, delivering speeds up to 200 Mbps to TEO customers. The network is environmentally friendly, with power consumption reductions of more than 41 percent. TEO is the largest integrated telecoms operator in Lithuania which has deployed fiber-optic Internet technologies at the fastest rate in Europe, according to the FTTH Council in Europe. By the end of 2010, fiber-optic Internet access was used by approximately 23 percent of residents in Lithuania. ZTE’s green innovations offer significantly reduced power consumption levels. They implement the “green” notion as required by TEO for its broadband network in five aspects: reducing energy consumption, using harmless materials, prolonging the life cycle of equipment, saving space, and cutting labor costs. “With ZTE’s technology, TEO will benefit from over 37 percent TCO savings in the first four years, increased bandwidth and QoS levels, as well as an energy efficient network. Our FTTx platform is helping TEO to reduce its TCO and manage a more efficient network,” said Li Guotao, GM Baltic Office, ZTE Corporation. |
