While maintaining that it has yet to find evidence of coercion against the former telecom minister Dyanidhi Maran, the CBI on Thursday denied media reports that it has given clean chit to him in 2G scam.
The CBI however says that there is evidence that there indeed was deliberate delay in issue of license to Aircel.
Maran is facing allegations that he forced the then Aircel owner C Sivasankaran to sell the Malaysian company Maxim. Using his power as telecom minister he was believed to be instrumental in delaying the allocation of 2G spectrum licence to Aircel.
Maran who is close to Maxis owner Anandakrishnan allegedly had Rs 800 invested in Sun TV owned by his brother Kalanidhi Maran after Aircel deal. |
