BSNL to initiate action against Vodafone, Bharti, Idea for not paying carriage charges

The State owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), Rajasthan Telecom Circle has decided to take action major telecom operators- Vodafone, Tata Teleservices, Bharti Hexacom, Idea Cellular, Reliance communication, Sistema Shyam- for not paying Rs 37.65 crore as carriage charges.

BSNL, Rajasthan Telecom Circle had asked these operators through notices on 01.08.2011 to pay the outstanding charges pending against them, an official informed Telecom Tiger.

 

The action will be taken under Liquidated Damages Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) judgment dated 29.09.2010. The representatives of these operators met BSNL authorities seeking more time after were asked to pay the outstanding dues related to carriage charges latest by August 30, 2011.
