2G note: Opposition force Chacko to summon finance secretary to JPC
TT Correspondent |  |  27 Sep 2011

The finance ministry note on 2G spectrum allocation , it seems,  is setting the pace of the developments related to the prob. In a significant development on Tuesday the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on 2G spectrum allocation has decided to summon Finance Secretary R.S. Gujral on October 13.

The JPC is believed to have taken the decision after Communist Party of India (Marxist) member Sitaram Yechuri and SS Ahluwalia of Bhartiya Janata raised the issue and demanded that finance secretary be summoned to the committee.

The opposition members said that the non-submission of the controversial finance ministry note to JPC was a serious lapse and demanded that the finance secretary be called before it to give clarifications. Yechuri is understood to have said that the non-submission of the finance ministry note was a deliberate act.
