State-run BSNL has not restored services to private telecom operators in the Punjab circle till this evening even though the regulator TRAI has directed the PSU to reconnect services.
"There is no official communication yet from our headquarter for restoring services to private operators," a senior official of BSNL said here on Friday.
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Tuesday issued directive to BSNL to immediately restore the connectivity services of private operators in the Punjab circle and send a compliance report by October 21.
But Due to non-restoration the subscribers are not able to make calls from mobile phones to land phones and vice-versa since past over three weeks.
BSNL on September 29 had disconnected its services to five mobile operators including Airtel, Vodafone, Tata Teleservices, Reliance Communication and Idea on account of pending dues amounting to Rs 13 crore.
However, on October 3, BSNL Punjab circle had restored services to Reliance Communications and Tata Teleservices Limited as telecom tribunal TDSAT stayed BSNL from disconnecting services of private operators.
BSNL has, though, already restored services to emergency service numbers, including 100, 101, 102 and 108 in Punjab circle, allowing mobile subscribers of private telecom operators to call up on numbers. |
