According to Gulf News, Vodafone Qatar has announced that its new chief financial officer Steve Walters will take up his assignment on November 7. 

Walters is an experienced finance executive, and previously held the role of interim head of Finance for Vodafone Essar Ltd.  Walters first joined Vodafone in 2000 and has extensive experience in Vodafone Group, European Region, and since 2008 in India in core areas of finance including M&A.

Vodafone Qatar’s former chief financial officer and acting chief executive officer, John Tombleson will be leaving Vodafone Qatar to take up the role of chief financial officer at Vodafone’s affiliate in Kenya, Safaricom. Tombleson has been an integral part of the Vodafone team in Qatar since the Company’s inception in 2008.

“The board of Vodafone Qatar is extremely grateful to Tombleson for all his hard work and dedication to the company and we wish him every success in his new role in Kenya. We welcome Walters to the company who brings with him a wealth of experience”, said Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Saud al-Thani, Vodafone Qatar chairman.
