ZTE, a telecommunications equipment and network solutions provider, on Wednesday launched a commercial LTE network in Austria in partnership with Hutchison 3G (H3G) Austria.
The jointly built network is based on ZTE’s latest Uni-RAN and Uni-Core solutions. It is H3G’s first commercial LTE network. As part of the project, ZTE will provide H3G Austria with LTE/HSPA+ equipment for major cities across the country and upgrade H3G Austria’s 3G core network to support LTE services. ZTE also will provide management and maintenance for the network.
The Austria LTE network was built to meet a rising demand for mobile broadband services in the country. It will dramatically reduce operating expenses and achieve flexible and efficient networking.
“H3G Austria is dedicated to creating a novel wireless lifestyle for Austrians,” said H3G Austria CEO Jan Trionow. “This jointly built LTE network has brought to life a faster, more efficient wireless environment for Austrian users.”
According to ZTE Senior Vice President Zhu Jinyun, “It’s a great honor for ZTE to have worked with H3G to build a LTE/DC-HSPA+ network in Austria. We strive to improve our network delivery ability and service quality with a view to enhancing our presence in the European market.”
To date, ZTE has won 28 commercial LTE contracts globally, and has deployed test LTE networks in cooperation with more than 90 operators around the globe, including H3G, Telenor and Sonaecom in Europe and Softbank and CSL in Asia. |
