The government on Tuesday said that censoring the social media sites in the country is not on its agenda, but they have to operate within the laws of the country.
"There is no question of any censorship at all. There is no question of blocking or censorship," said said Minister of State for Communications and IT, Sachin Pilot while talking to the media persons.
He said that these social sites need to follow the laws that have been made after consultations with them.
He said that there should be a redressal mechanism for the objectionable contact. There should be a system where people can approach the company to register their complaint.
"Nothing that has been demanded of these companies is outside the ambit of our laws," Pilot said.
Meanwhile Sachin Pilot while speaking at ISA Vision Summit 2012 said that before the end of the year, Government will take crucial decisions in the Electronics industry.
“Before the end of this year, Government will take some crucial decisions in the electronics sector. However, while it is important to have policies, investment and technology, it is also the responsibility of individual companies and state governments to partner and deliver on specific projects. There would be all possible help from central Government in manufacturing, especially the small and medium enterprises that really is the horse that would pull the wagon”, Pilot said. |
