As part of its strategy for emerging market, Cisco Systems is planning to go for a 60 percent increase in its workforce in India in the next four years, according to a report published in Economic Times. A large chunk of the recruitments will take place for company's research and development centre in Bangalore.
According to the report this is going to be the massive recruitment drive in India by Cisco after it announced a 15% cut in global workforce in mid 2011.
The report quoted senior vice-president Sanjay Rohatgi saying, "By 2015, we will be ramping up from 7,500 people to about 12,000 people, increasing workforce out of Bangalore," said, adding, "We want to innovate faster and at the right price point for emerging countries because the growth will happen in this part of the world now." |
