Realty firm Unitech, on Friday approached the Company Law Board seeking arbitration in its dispute with Norwegian telecom firm Telenor over control of joint venture Uninor.
The JV is set to lose 22 spectrum licences following the Supreme Court’s February 2 order cancelling all the 122 2G licences allotted in 2008 during the tenure of the former telecom minister a Raja.
Telenor is believed to have told the Company Law Board that they would oppose Unitech’s petition in arguments scheduled for Monday.
Telenor has accused Unitech of “fraud and misrepresentation” and has said it would migrate the business to a new company to seek fresh licences.
Last month both Unitech and Telenor had moved the Company Law Board over the dispute. The CLB had recently asked Unitech to tell it whether it wants to buy Telenor’s stake in the joint venture or sell its own stake to Telenor. |
