Motorola Inc., on Wednesday announced that it will discontinue manufacturing mobile phones in Singapore by the end of the year.
According to the Motorola spokeswoman, the decision is a result of a strategic review of business operations, which comprises of previously declared global $500 million cost-reduction proposal.
The company said that it will continue to base its headquarters for Asia-Pacific in Singapore. While so, the move will leave 700 Singapore-based, permanent Motorola employees out of job. |
