Batelco, the official telecommunications partner of Bahrain International Circuit , partnered this week with Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, in delivering a more interactive racing experience to guests at Batelco's Corporate Lounge hosted at the 2012 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
Batelco officials including Group CEO Shaikh Mohamed Bin Isa Al Khalifa were joined by Huawei officials including VP Global BSS Solutions Derry Li, to welcome Batelco's business customers to the lounge whilst showcasing a number of the latest Batelco and Huawei products set to make their way to consumers in the near future.
Amongst the Huawei innovations on hand for guests to enjoy during the Grand Prix action was the much-anticipated Huawei MediaPad 10 FHD tablet as well as the soon to be released Huawei Ascend P1 and Huawei D Quad smartphones breaking barriers earlier this year as the world's slimmest and fastest smartphones, respectively. Visitors to the Corporate Lounge enjoyed access to a wide range of real-time information about the Grand Prix and the drivers via the Huawei devices, and were even able to trial new high-definition racing games with other Grand Prix guests.
The Huawei Ascend P1 is confirmed to be available in Bahrain during Q2 2012 with the Huawei MediaPad 10FHD and Huawei D Quad hitting shelves sometime in Q3 of this year.
Batelco Bahrain Chief Executive Rashid Abdulla extended his appreciation to Huawei for their participation at the prestigious Formula 1 event.
"We are fully committed to the role we play in supporting business in Bahrain and we appreciate Huawei's role in helping us to meet a number of key requirements for these customers," said Abdulla.
"The Grand Prix is an incredibly exciting occasion on the annual calendar, and partnering with Batelco around this event has been a rewarding experience both for our teams and the many guests enjoying this year's races," said Huawei VP Global BSS Derry Li.
Huawei has been a partner of Batelco for a long time and provides various ICT solutions to support Batelco's services to its customers, including work on the country's nationwide next generation network. Recently, the two companies also successfully showcased 4G/LTE (Long Term Evolution) mobile technology at Batelco's Hamala Headquarters during which network speeds of 150Mbps were achieved. |
