Tatanet bags TCIL order for pan-Africa satcom project

Tatanet which specializes in offering VSAT-based services announced that it has bagged an order from Telecommunications Consultants of India Ltd. (TCIL) to provide system integration and satcom services for TCIL’s pan-Africa project.

 

The project aims to create a common platform for all African countries to provide Internet, telecommunication, tele-education, tele-medicine, video conferencing, voice over internet protocol services and support e-governance, e-commerce, infotainment, resource mapping and meteorological services.

 

The deal also involves Tatanet to set up a data centre at Dakar, Senegal and a studio in India that will connect seven Indian universities with courses that can cater to the African students.

 

"This project has many first and provides us the platform to showcase our skills in the field of System Integration and Satcom project. We are confident of our ability to deliver a robust network, which will be a benchmark for such initiatives in the future," said Tatanet Vice President Kaushik Mandal.
