CommunicAsia2012 and BroadcastAsia2012 offer global satellite players vast opportunities for Asian expansion

More than 100 satellite based communications companies an increase of seven per cent compared to 2011 will assemble at CommunicAsia2012 and BroadcastAsia2012, Asia’s largest global ICT, Digital Multimedia and Entertainment event, being held from 19-22 June 2012 at the Marina Bay Sands and Suntec Singapore respectively.

 

Key exhibitors include Addvalue, Alitronika, AsiaSat, Asia Broadcast Satellite, APT Satellite, Beijing Compunicate, China Satcom, China Suncom, Cobham, Elber, Essel Shyam, Eutelsat, GE Satellite, Gospell Digital Technology, iDirect, Inmarsat, Intelsat, Iridium, IRT Electronics, KNS, MEASAT, Newtec, Rockwell Collins, Rohde&Schwarz, SES, Shenzhen Skyworth, Siemens, SkyPerfect JSAT, Speedcast, ST Electronics (Satcom & Sensor Systems), ST Teleport, SUNSEA Telecommunications, Telefunken Radio Communication, Thaicom, Thomson Video Networks and first time exhibitor NovelSat.

                                                                             

India derives its own advantages from these shows as Indian Telecommunication is the third largest in the world. In its recent statement issued, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has revealed that the country's mobile subscriber base has increased from 893.84 million in December 2011 to 903.73 million in January 2012, growing by 1.11 per cent. The India mobile handsets market, that includes featurephones and smartphones, will grow at over 30 percent during 2012 to touch revenues of Rs 83,377 Crore (USD 18 billion).

Pathak, Secretary, Telecom Equipment & Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC) & Deputy Director General (IP), Department of Telecommunications said, “This is the third time we are participating in CommunicAsia and that demonstrates our faith in Asia’s largest International Trade Fair on mobile broadband, mobile commerce and innovations, next generation services, satellite communications, smartphones & devices and many others.
