China Telecom joins hands with Ubitus to deliver cloud gaming on connected TVs in China

Ubitus Inc., the technology leader that provides cloud gaming solutions has entered into an agreement with China Telecom to deliver cloud gaming on connected TVs in China. The service is expected to launch in October 1st 2012 during the Chinese Golden week holiday.

 

The announcement came in 2012 Tianyi (E-surfing) 3G Handset Fair & Mobile Internet Forum.

 

Ubitus GameCloud(R) specializes in rendering games requiring heavy graphics processing on the cloud into streaming videos. End users can instantly access the high quality games on connected TVs and STBs. Through this border free platform, content providers can now enter this new market with ease.

 

Spurred by the policy of Fixed Mobile Convergence from Chinese authority, the connected TV market is expected to expand to 53 million households by the end of 2013 with a CAGR of 130%. China Telecom and Ubitus will initially collaborate with Skyworth, KONKA and LG to demonstrate the premier HD gaming service over cloud at the Fair. Visitors can experience a rich library of game titles, including fighting, racing, sport games, RPG, FPS and casual games. There will also be daily tournaments of Super Street Fighter 4 AE.

2012 Tianyi (E-surfing) 3G Handset Fair took place in Guangzhou Pazhou International Convention and Exhibition Center, from June 15 to June 17. Top executives from China Telecom, content providers, OEMs and Ubitus had exchanged opinions on the opportunities of the connected TV cloud gaming in China, at 2012 Mobile Internet Forum on June 16, held at the Westin Pazhou.
