Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, has said that mLab has successfully completed the industry's first simultaneous GSM/UMTS/WiFi service test. The test marks a significant step forward in the development of convergent solutions for mobile and WiFi networks. The mobile network assists in identifying and selecting the best WiFi signal, allowing subscribers to connect to WiFi without having to input their user name and password. This technology is already in commercial operation in Chengdu, China.
