Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, on Tuesday released its storage compatibility announcement in conjunction with the launch of Microsoft Corp.’s Windows Server 2012in the U.S.
Huawei also announces its broad technology support for this new server product’s features such as Offload Data Transfer (ODX), Server Message Block (SMB) 3.0, and thin provisioning.
Huawei, has been working closely with Microsoft to launch this storage plan, which features the Windows Server 2012 certification of Huawei’s premier storage products: the OceanStor T series, including the S2200T, S2600T, S5500T, S5600T, S5800T, and S6800T; and the OceanStor Dorado series, including the Dorado2100 and Dorado5100, and OceanStor VIS6000 series.
With the joint effort by both sides, Huawei storage systems are now fully compatible with Windows Server 2012 in various application scenarios. In addition, Huawei enhanced technology support for Microsoft's Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V and failover clustering, as well as new features like ODX and thin provisioning, is aimed to bring customers a much better user experience.
Huawei Storage has been working closely with Microsoft in many areas, especially in the area of storage research and development. Huawei launches OceanStor N2000, a brand new enterprise NAS product based on reliable hardware from Huawei and Windows Storage Server 2012 from Microsoft.
It is aimed to provide a feature-rich, affordable and energy-efficient NAS product for SMB, and to simplify data management, as well as to enhance operational efficiency for enterprises and their branch offices by fully supporting CIFS/NFS, deduplication, DFS and server virtualization.
