Akamai crosses 100 customers mark in Indian market, announces expansion plans

Akamai Technologies, the leading cloud platform for helping enterprises provide secure, high-performing user experiences on any device, anywhere, on has said that it has crossed the 100 customers mark in the fast-growing Indian market.

To meet the diverse needs of the growing customer base in India, Akamai also announced the opening of two new offices in Mumbai and Delhi.

Akamai said it serves over 100 enterprises in India, helping them provide highly secure and accelerated user experiences across multiple devices and platforms. Akamai’s customers in India represent a microcosm of the Indian economy coming from different industries such as financial services, manufacturing, travel, e-commerce, media & entertainment and IT/ITES organizations.

“India is one of our fastest-growing markets globally and it is exciting to see the traction over the last year in our customer base. We continue to see positive growth in this market as industries like financial services, manufacturing and e-commerce innovate online business models leveraging our market-leading cloud platform,” said Sanjay Singh, Senior VP & GM, Asia Pacific & Japan, and Managing Director, India. “As we expand our customer base, it is critical to have customer-facing operations across multiple cities in India and I am pleased to announce our expansion in Delhi and Mumbai. As Internet adoption grows in India, these new local offices will provide new solutions and capabilities to help our Indian customers move their businesses faster forward.”

Akamai’s new customers in India include RedBus, India’s largest bus ticketing service and Bombay Stock Exchange, India’s leading stock exchange.
