Israel’s Fring to bring VoIP to Apple’s iPhone
TT Bureau |  |  17 Apr 2008

iPhone will soon have VoIP features as Apple and Israeli company Fring  have tied up to bring the latter’s Voice over Internet Protocol application to iPhone which will allow the users to talk, chat and interact with other so-called Fringsters and their online communities, using iPhone’s Wi-Fi feature.

The company said that this application enables users to make free low-cost mobile calls over Wi-Fi and conduct IM-style live chat with their online contacts, regardless of whether they are on their mobiles, PCs or other Internet devices.

Fring automatically creates a single, integrated contact list, combining contacts from all the user’s selected Internet communities. User can chat with contacts from Skype, MSN, Google Talk, ICQ, Twitter, Yahoo and AIM.
