The e-commerce portals in India have started offering discounts on its 16 GB variant. Apple’s official distributor Redington India and Ingram micro had priced the device at Rs. 45,500 for its 16 GB variant.

At least one portal is offering a discount of almost 6.5%. Indiatimes is selling it at Rs. 42,500 as Diwali offer with special coupon code from 91mobiles.com. The seller on Indiatimes is also offering manufacturer’s warranty.

As the trend in e-commerce is, other portals may follow suit. However, it is available only in limited e-commerce portals. Tradus.com and Adexmart are also offering Rs. 600 discount on the same 16 GB variant.

Apple’s much awaited iPhone 5 was launched in India after 42 days of its US launch and received a warm welcome in the Indian market as well.
