The Supreme Court on Friday stayed all proceedings in the Delhi High Court relating to 2G case including petitions of the prime accused and the former telecom minister A Raja, DM leader Kanimozhi and others.
This came after CBI approached the court arguing that the Supreme Court in April 2011 had passed an order saying that only apex court will entertain any application related to the scam.
The CBI moved the apex court following the latter’s unhappiness over hearing of the case by the High Court despite the order.
There were 20 petitions or applications pending before the high court after the CBI filed the charge sheets.
The court said that despite injunction the Delhi High Court has entertained petition relating to the 2G spectrum case.”
“It is very surprising on the part of the behaviour of the high court", a bench of justices GS Singhvi and KS Radhakrishnan said.
The bench issued notices and sought replies of various parties within six weeks on the CBI application. |
