According to a DigiTimes report, Nokia, in association with Microsoft, Qualcomm and Compal Electronics, has resumed working on a 10 inch Windows 8 RT tablet.
This rumoured Nokia slate is 'likely' to be showcased at Mobile World Congress, to be held in Barcelona in February, says the post.
This report in Digitimes also says that Nokia had previously considered making a Windows RT based tablet working on Qualcomm's S4 processor in the early months of 2012. However, this idea was dropped when Microsoft announced its own tablet, Surface. Digitimes' sources said that Nokia thought it was prudent to wait to see the response to another tablet and proceeded to develop its phones.
According to DigiTimes, "as the sales performance for Windows RT tablets has so far been short of expectations, Nokia is evaluating ordered volumes and has not yet decided on its marketing plans, the sources indicated". |
