SC allows Sistema, uninor to continue operations till Feb. 4

The telecom operators whose licences were cancelled in February last year have been permitted by the Supreme Court on Monday to continue their operations till February 4.
 
With this, leading operator Russia’s Sistema whose 21 licences were supposed to be revoked on January 18 has got some relief along with uninor.
 
Department of Telecommunications (DoT) had sought from the apex court that the existing permit holders be permitted allowed to continue operations till process of second round of auction completes in March 2013.

An apex court bench of Justice GS Singhvi and Justice KS Radhakrishnan also asked the government DoT to give the list of the successful bidder companies in the auction held on November 12 and 14, 2012.
