Dutch court rules Samsung Galaxy tabs did not copy Apple design
TT Correspondent |  |  17 Jan 2013

Apple got a setback in its legal battle with Samsung with a Dutch court ruling that Galaxy tablets did not copy its design.

Apple’s allegation was that Samsung’s devices with rectangular shape and rounded corners are its registered design features. The court also cited the rulings of British courts in this case.

The Samsung devices which have allegedly infringed upon Apple design are Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 8.9, and Galaxy Tab 7.7.

Meanwhile Samsung in statement said that that it continues to believe that Apple was not the first to design a tablet with a rectangular shape and rounded corners and that the origins of Apple's registered design features can be found in numerous examples.
