TDSAT stays DoT’s one-time fee directive to Vodafone
TT Correspondent |  |  29 Jan 2013

The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) in an interim order on Tuesday stayed the Department of Telecommunications’ (DoT)directive asking Vodafone to pay Rs. 3,599 crore as one-time spectrum fee.

The tribunal also asked Vodafone to file rejoinder over DoT's reply. The next hearing will take place on February 25.

The DoT had demanded  Rs. 3,599 crore and its first instalment, of around Rs. 2,093 crore, was to be paid by January 28.

Yesterday Mumbai High court  granted Airtel the stay on time-time spectrum fee till February 24. Early this month DoT began issuing demand notices to the operators.

Idea Cellular, Aircel also got a breather after the court on Monday stayed the imposition of the one-time fee on the telco till March 1, 2013.
