Mahindra Comviva, the global leader in providing mobile financial and VAS solutions, has entered into a partnership with Guyana Telephone & Telegraph (GT&T), the leading telecommunications service provider in Guyana to deliver mobile financial services to provide its mobiquity mobile financial solution to enable GT&T to offer mWallet services in Guyana.
This will allow mobile subscribers to conduct a variety of transactions over the mobile, which include domestic and international P2P money transfer, prepaid top-up, utility bill payments and over the counter merchant payments.
With the launch of mWallet services, GT&T customers will be able to use their mobile as a convenient payment and transaction medium. Banked subscribers will also be able to enjoy increased convenience and round-the-clock access to financial services from their mobile phone. At the same time, under served and unbanked mobile phone users will be able to gain access to affordable formal financial services that have the power to improve their overall economic well-being.
