China has reacted sharply to the issue related to intellectual property which involves top Chinese telcos ZTE and Huawei, reports Xinhua. The issue is being raised in the US.
ZTE and Huawei along with two other firms were accused of patent infringements ZTE and Huawei along with two other firms were accused of patent infringements by InterDigital Communications and another three U.S. companies. Following this the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) initiated a Section-337 investigation into wireless devices from Huawei and ZTE in January.
Expressing its displeasure over politicization of intellectual property disputes involving these two firms, State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) commissioner Tian Lipu said that Intellectual property right is a private right, and Chins opposes its politicization
Arguing that ZTE are top intellectual property owners in the world IT industry, he said that they are “at par” with multinational firms of the developed world in terms of quantity and quality of owned intellectual property.
The reports quoted him as saying that they are ZTE and Huawei are main applicants of the world's Patent Cooperation Treaty and theycomply with international business rules and safety rules in operations.
