Instant messaging platform Nimbuzz has claimed that its global user base has gone past 150 million in 200 countries in which Asia including the Middle east account for 78 million followed by Africa 16 million, Europe 10 million and USA 9 million.
It said that it registered 100-percent year-over-year growth and supported more than 5,000 devices. Apart from this, it counted for more than 1 billion minutes of Nimbuzz P2P, NimbuzzOut and SIP calls made per month.
Nimbuzz said More than 102 billion messages have been sent and received per month with Android devices accounting for more than 35% of all active and new users
It said that founded in 2006, it reached 50 million users in August 2011 and 100 million in August 2012, it added.
The recent survey by Nielsen India Consumer Ranking has shown Nimbuzz among the top 4 most used apps. In a blog it said that Nimbuzz is the top 4 consumer brands in India even ahead of Facebook messenger, YouTube and Gmail
