So, we have finally arrived in the era of digital will. Now you can leave your unexpressed desires or private conversation behind that could be obtained from your account after your death by your near and dear ones.
To make sure that you are connected with them Google has launched a new feature called Inactive Account Manager which will direct Google about what to do with information, your plans and other thoughts after you leave for heavenly abode.
“Not many of us like thinking about death especially our own. But making plans for what happens after you’re gone is really important for the people you leave behind”, wrote Tuerk, Product Andreas at Google.
The news received good response. One Micah.S said that thanks guys; this is very comforting to know that my wife will have access to my data should the worst occur.
“Good initiative. It would be nice to be able to customise the delay after which messages are automatically sent to the different persons” reacted Alexandre Alapetite.
The user can do that with Google Account settings page and tell Google about the treatment of such information after accounts remains inactive for some reasons.
“You can choose to have your data deleted, after three, six, nine or 12 months of inactivity. Or you can select trusted contacts to receive data from some or all of the following services: +1s; Blogger; Contacts and Circles; Drive; Gmail; Google+ Profiles, Pages and Streams; Picasa Web Albums; Google Voice and YouTube.” The blog said.
But before you go about this Google will warn you through text message or an e-mail.
