The suspense over price is finally over. Asus on Thursday launched its much awaited 7-inch FonePad for Indian customers with 3G mobile data with a price tag of Rs. 15,999. The company had recently launched Nexus 7 3G recently.
Asus Fonepad was launched at Mobile World Congress in February, and is priced at S$369 in Singapore when it makes debut in a couple of days. The Device has also been launched in Malaysia and Taiwan.
The device has a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels and runs on Android v4.1 OS (Jelly Bean). It is powered by Intel Atom Z2420 processor with 1.2GHz CPU speed and sports 1.2-megapixel front facing camera & 3.15-megapixel rear camera.
It comes with 4,270-mAh battery and 1GB RAM with 8GB and 16GB.memeory which is extendable 32GB.
With this the race for 3G tablet has heated up in India and the manufacturers are quite aware of their growing popularity in India.
Only yesterday, an e-commerce portal has announced the availability of 7 inch tablet Celkon CT 888.
It is available online on snapdeal.com at Rs 7,999. The MRP of the device is 8,990. The portal is offering inresrt free EMI and the with the delivery time of three business days.
The 3G Calling Tablet CT 888 runs on Android 4.0.4 ICS operating and is powered by a 1.2 GHz Dual Core Processor. It has a 7 inch capacitive touch screen and comes with 3D Motion Sensor.
Early this month, Asus had launched its Google Nexus 7 tablet with its 7” display for the Indian market. Nexus 7 is powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, and Jellybean OS.
The Asus Nexus 7 3G version will be available in India for Rs. 21,999 and Wi-Fi variant would be available in India for Rs. 18,999.
