The launch of Asus 7-inch FonePad with 3G connectivity has heated up race for the 3G tabs in India. The device can give direct competition to Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (310) and Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 Plus (620) in this category. Then there is Google Nexus 7 tablet.
All of them are in the same price range of Rs 15,000-Rs.20,000 with more or less similar features.
Asus Fonepad which was launched at Mobile World Congress in February made its debut with a price tag of Rs. 15,999
The device has a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels and runs on Android v4.1 OS (Jelly Bean). It is powered by Intel Atom Z2420 processor with 1.2GHz CPU speed and sports 1.2-megapixel front facing camera & 3.15-megapixel rear camera.
It comes with 4,270-mAh battery and 1GB RAM with 8GB and 16GB.memeory which is extendable 32GB.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (310) (Wi-Fi, 3G, 16GB) on the other hand runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS and powered by 1 GHz Dual Core Processor. It comes with 1 GB RAM and 3 MP Primary Camera. It is priced at Rs. 15099.
The device comes with 7 inch Display Screen 1024 x 600 Screen Resolution, 16 GB Internal Storage, Wifi and 3G Connectivity.
If you want to go for another option there is Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 Plus (620) whhic come with 1 GB RAM, 3 MP Primary Camera, 7 inch Display Screen, 16 GB Internal Storage and Wifi and 3G Connectivity.
It runs on Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) OS, powered by 1.2 GHz Dual Core Processor, and has 1024 x 600 Screen Resolution. It is available at Rs. 18000 in many stores.
Recently Asus had launched its Google Nexus 7 tablet with its 7” display for the Indian market. Nexus 7 is powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, and Jellybean OS.The Asus Nexus 7 3G version is available in India for Rs. 21,999 and Wi-Fi variant for Rs. 18,999.
