The Indian SMB market for the cloud services is estimated at Rs 17 billion (US$339 million), and is expected to grow 35 percent year-over-year for the next three years, reaching Rs 42 billion (US$839 million) by the beginning of 2016, according to the latest Parallels SMB Cloud Insights research for India,
The study says that to meet the growing demand of cloud services by SMBs, service providers need to be able to grow and scale. To this end, Parallels recently released Parallels Plesk Automation, which is a scalable, multi-server automation solution enabling a seamless growth path for Parallels Plesk Panel customers to scale to thousands of servers and a wide range of services. Offering a simple, one-click migration path from Parallels Plesk Panel, Parallels Plesk Automation is designed to manage thousands of customers from a central point with a modern design and exceptional usability and will grow with time to include infrastructure and application (SaaS) modules. A growing number of service providers globally, including Indian partners such as XcellHost, have already deployed Parallels Plesk Automation on hundreds of servers.
“The deployment of Parallels Plesk Automation has enabled XcellHost to scale and grow our global operations more quickly and efficiently while removing the single point of failure that was inherent in previous control panel configurations,” said Samir Jhaveri, Managing Director, XcellHost. “Simultaneously, the technology’s centralized management offering has led to a reduction in administration effort and improvements in service quality, resulting in faster go-to market, increased customer satisfaction and increased growth for us.”
In addition to growth in web presence and web applications, opportunities lie in Indian service providers to offer SMB customers easy-to-consume hosted infrastructure, which includes cloud servers and storage. In India, as the country’s infrastructure develops at a rapid rate, Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) will experience steady growth with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 30 percent through 2016 to become a Rs 17.2 billion (US$344 million) market. Moreover, a full 50 percent without Private Branch Exchange (PBX) systems are considering adding this service over the next three years.
Another opportunity for huge growth and opportunity for Indian service providers is to offer SMB customers easy-to-consume hosted infrastructure (Infrastructure as a Service), which includes cloud servers and storage. Parallels predicts continued steady growth in IaaS across all size segments of Indian SMBs—especially as more SMBs gain access to the Internet, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 30 percent through 2016 to become a ?17.2 billion (US$344 million) market.
To address this opportunity for service providers, Parallels has launched two integrated products, which have been adopted by service providers globally.
Parallels said its Cloud Storage drastically reduces the cost of high-availability, high-performance storage. Parallels Cloud Storage uses the existing unused disk space on server nodes to create a self-healing, centralized storage pool for distributed cloud storage. Offered as a seamless upgrade for existing Parallels Virtuozzo Containers and Parallels Server customers, it will support third party virtualization technologies in 2013.
“We can deploy cloud storage and high availability Virtual Private Servers with the same skills and people we have for Parallels Virtuozzo Containers and Parallels Server Bare Metal servers,” said Narayanan Ganeshan, Senior Manager, Cloud Operations of CtrlS. “That means we can do everything faster, better, and at a lower cost.”
Parallels said its Cloud Server now makes it easy to offer all cloud infrastructure services customers want. It includes Parallels Virtuozzo Containers together with our world-class hypervisor technology and Parallels Cloud Storage, combing all of the pieces to enable best-in-class infrastructure services.
