Micromax which may topple Samsung as top smartphone seller in India in the coming months with the huge demand witnessed for its Canvas series smatphones has launched its first Canvas tablet called Canvas Tab P650. The device has a price tag of Rs 16,500 and is available in stores across India.

Canvas Tab P650 tablet can compete with Apple iPad mini and Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (311) with an 8-inch display.
Packed in aluminium body Micromax's new Canvas Tab P650 runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1GB RAM. The company said that it can be be upgraded to future versions of Google's mobile OS. ith 1GB RAM. The device comes with 16GB internal storage and supports microSD expansion up to 32GB.

Micromax Canvas Tab P650 has a 5MP rear and a 2MP front camera. It has Wi-Fi and 3G as connectivity options. It omess with voice calling facility a large 4,800mAh battery which the company claims can provide five hours of browsing time on 3G. Apps like Spuul, Opera Mini, M! Live, Music Hub and M! Security comes preloaded with the tab.

Tablet PC witnessed a massive growth figure of 424 percent. The sales for 2012-13 stood at 1.9 million units as against 0.36 million units in 2011-12.
Micromax ranks second with 13.33% market share after Samsung with 15.76% in the tablet market in India.
