Opera Software has partnered with handset manufacturer Micromax who will preinstall Opera Mini as a third-party mobile browser across their upcoming Android devices.

Some of the most recent devices that have already been launched with Opera Mini are Micromax’s Canvas series: Canvas 4, Canvas Doodle 2 and Canvas Fun Android smartphones.

Android is the 2nd largest platform used by Opera Mini users In India. According to August’13 statistics, Opera Mini users on Android increased by 228% in India, constituting 21% of the total number of Opera Mini users. Of all the Indian OEMs offering Android devices, Micromax devices are the most popular - used by 13% of Indian Opera Mini users on Android. Micromax Canvas 2 leads the pack of most used Indian Android handsets among Opera Mini users.
